THE FIFTH GRAND CANAL CULTURAL & TOURISM EXPO

SPANISH PAVILION

Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Spain, Caelis Galería, in cooperation with the Spanish Consulate in Shanghai and NOÉ BCN China, travelled to Suzhou from 21st to 24th September to take part in the Fifth Grand Canal Cultural and Tourism Expo, presenting 22 works by influential Spanish artists and contributing to the development of Spanish contemporary art in China.
With the core of promoting canal culture and driving urban development, this year's Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo continues to move forward on the basis of previous experience, arranging six major sections: a night walk on the Bao Belt Bridge, opening ceremony, a night tour of Jinji Lake, exhibitions&display, themed forum, and interaction.
With the joint efforts of all parties, the exhibition featured the work of renowned Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali, "The Hand. The Remorse of Conscience", as well as the works of six important artists: August Puig, Carlos Tirado, Joaquim Falco, Àlex SantaFe, Martín Carral and Carmen Anzanodeng.
Caelis Galería has also selected the best works of the represented artists Arol, Debbie Reda, Jaime Sancorlo, Sniqus, TKM.XOXO, and @Gonhdo to showcase young Spanish contemporary artists, along with a selection of Chinese works inspired by Spanish-style architecture in the same exhibition, presenting a rich visual feast.
As the gallery adheres to the concept of "integrating the East and the West with the past and the present", in the future, Caelis Galería will continue to explore the charm of young Spanish contemporary artists. We‘ll not forget the original intention, do a good job of the bridge between Chinese and Western art exchanges , to bring you more excellent Spanish art works, and create a comfortable art world.
